Argos appoints a Head of Digital Innovation

Neil Tinegate has been appointed to the newly created role of Head of Digital Innovation, effective 2 September. He reports to Digital Director Bertrand Bodson and will become part of the digital leadership team. The role is vital to bringing to life the strategic vision for Argos to be a digital retail leader, as announced to The City on 24 October 2012.

Here he was instrumental in the inception and set up of OpenEMI, which drives innovation in commercial products and services by building relationships with the music-tech start up community. At EMI he also led a number of global programmes encompassing applications development and technology solutions to connect customers with channels, and launched EMI.com in the UK and US.

Prior to that he was with Arcadia Group, where he managed and led a series of key business change projects, and at Bass Leisure where he built retail systems into new leisure outlets. He has an MBA from the University of Westminster.

On his appointment, Bertrand Bodson, Digital Director, said: “I am delighted to be working with Neil again as I know he will bring new ideas and approaches, combined with a grounded, solutions driven approach at this exciting time for the business. His role is to make sure we are forward thinking and able to move with agility and pace to deliver tangible results.

“He will be a great addition to an already strong team.”

On his appointment, Neil Tinegate added: “I am excited by this role as it enables me to combine my experience in digital innovation and technology management in the context of an exciting business change strategy. What has struck me in my first few weeks is the sheer enthusiasm and energy of talented people embracing change and driving the digital agenda”.
