B&Q launches Facebook ‘12 days of Christmas’ giveaway

B&Q has today launched a festive ’12 Days of Christmas’ promotion for its Facebook followers, offering them the opportunity to win a daily prize of a Christmas tree and a set of decorative lights.

Those looking to enter the competition need their own Facebook account, and must click to ‘like’ the B&Q page; subsequently promoting the B&Q brand and maximising advertising potential. Furthermore, the entrant must fill in their name, address and email information, and choose whether to opt in or out of further communication from B&Q.

Today’s competition is outlined below:

“Want the chance to win a stylish Christmas tree plus a beautiful set of decorative Christmas lights? Simply answer the question below and fill in your details. We deliver our Christmas trees and lights by next day delivery. If you win today, we’ll contact you to arrange delivery of your prize tomorrow.”

Today’s question is: In the song, The Twelve Days of Christmas, what does the singer’s true love give to them on the first day of Christmas?”

The promotion is running on the corporate B&Q Facebook page, which has nearly 24,000 followers, and is the latest in a line of popular social media competitions and giveaways offered by the home improvement company.

The B&Q Facebook account is monitored between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, and customers are encouraged to make contact with any questions or concerns they might have, so that a B&Q representative can quickly resolve any issues. The site also contains a number of ‘how to’ guides, which explain how to undertake DIY tasks such as hanging wallpaper and bleeding radiators.

On the site, B&Q states that: “Our Facebook page is designed to make DIY easy – whether you like to get stuck in, or just have a dabble.”
