New Wilko store to open in Thanet

Wilko is set to open at Westwood Cross next month creating 75 jobs at the former H&M store.

The homeware store, which has 370 shops across the UK, will replace the clothing giant who left the shopping centre in June and will be open for business on September 17 at 9am.

Like H&M, the 12,500 sq ft shop will be spread across two floors.

It will be the second Wilko in Thanet adding to the Ramsgate store on York Street.

Last month Wilko opened a new store in Rotherham. The opening day celebrations kicked off at 9am Wednesday 9th July, with a ceremonial ribbon cutting led by the Manager of Rotherham United Football Club, Steve Evans, Rotherham United chairman, Tony Stuart, the Mayor of Rotherham, Councillor Barry Dodson, Wilko Chief Financial Officer, Ian Ellis, and store manager, Lewis Smedley.
