Tile Giant appoints Premier Logistics Group

Tile Giant, the fastest growing tile specialist retailer in the UK has appointed Premier Logistics Group to manage its store delivery operation.

The three-year contract will see Premier Logistics delivering stock to Tile Giant’s UK stores on a daily basis, utilising specialist trailers bearing the distinctive Tile Giant branding and trailer mounted forklift truck equipment. The retailer currently has over 100 stores across the UK with plans to expand to in excess of 250 over the next five years.

Announcing the appointment, Andy Morrison, Managing Director of Tile Giant says: “With our ambitious growth plans, we needed a logistics partner who shares the same ethos and the capacity growth alongside us. From the outset, we were impressed with Premier’s enthusiasm and commitment to invest in a long term partnership”.

Lee Christopher, Managing Director of Premier Logistics adds: “We are absolutely delighted to have been awarded this prestigious contract by Tile Giant, and see this as another step towards the Premier Logistics Group becoming a truly national contract logistics partner of choice”.

Tile Giant is part of the mighty £7bn Travis Perkins Group and as well as its UK network of over 100 specialist retail outlets, it supplies tiles and associated products to over 200 of its sister companies, Travis Perkins and City Plumbing Supplies.

Premier Logistics was founded in in 2004 by Lee Christopher in Leicestershire, since then it has grown to achieve an annual £20m turnover with operations in Hull, Huddersfield and Reading, as well as its HQ at Bardon, Leicestershire.
