Wickes LFL sales down 5.8%
In today’s Travis Perkins trading update, the company revealed that its Consumer division – which largely comprises the Wickes business – saw like-for-like sales decline by 5.8% during the 11 months to end November 2012.
The Consumer division also includes the Tile Giant and Toolstation businesses, the latter having been acquired and consolidated into the Travis Perkins fold in January 2012.
Total sales across the Consumer division were reported to have increased by 13.3% during the reporting period which covered the all-important Easter trading season.
Trade was disrupted by the wet April and summer weather and the impact of the Olympic Games, however Travis Perkins said that it remains on target to meet consensus earnings per share and on track to achieve its net debt target of approximately £450m.
