Warehouse Assistant

St Albans

40 hours per week over 5 days

Monday to Friday with Saturdays on a rota

Salary: 19,786 per annum plus pension and benefits

We have an opportunity for a Warehouse Assistant, to join our St Albans team, to provide exceptional service to our customers in store. You will play a vital part in helping us serve customers and keeping the branch running smoothly - experience with our products isn't necessary, if you bring great customer service and team working skills to the table, we'll give you everything you need to succeed.

During these unprecedented times we are ensuring that we are observing government guidance to help protect our colleagues and customers, including wearing masks, maintaining excellent hygiene and social distancing.

Our St Albans branch stocks not just a fantastic range of designer paints and trade paints for professionals, but all sorts of decorating and surface preparation essentials, woodcare products and more! Our branch has built a strong reputation, serving decorators and keen DIY'ers. Our staff use their experience and knowledge to recommend the right products and giving expert advice to customers in store - it’s part of our commitment to outstanding customer service.

A family run business for over 115 years; we have a long history in our industry and have grown to over 180 branches nationwide which says something about our ability to understand and keep up with the growing change in our market.

As a Warehouse Assistant for Brewers, some of your responsibilities will include:

Storing goods received promptly, systematically and safely
Assisting delivery drivers with loading of goods, and ensuring goods are available for collection
Keeping accurate records of goods in and out, ensuring relevant functions receive correct and up to date information
Operate the fork lift truck to store stock safely (training will be given)
Mix paint for customers, process specialist orders, and request special stock within the Branch network
Maintaining warehouse to agreed standards, ensuring minimal risk of injury, accident or damage
Promote and support the growth of the branch, being an ambassador for Brewers
Provide exceptional service to customers in branch
Mix paint for customers, process specialist orders, and request special stock within the Branch network
Delivering exceptional, friendly customer service to customers in branch
Who we are looking for to join our team:

Exceptional customer service and communication skills, to understand and translate customer requirements into product recommendations
Approachable, possessing an open and friendly personality - happy to help both customers and colleagues
Enjoys working and supporting a team, but can always be relied upon to work as an individual
Keen to learn, develop skills, and progress within our industry
Flexible and willing to cover in other local Brewers stores when needed
Willing to attend training to become a Fire Marshall and/or First Aider if required
Product knowledge, previous retail experience or experience in a decorator’s merchant would be advantageous but not essential, as full training will be given to the right candidate
