Administrators Appointed To Nolte Möbel Ltd

Less than a month after German bedroom furniture manufacturer Nolte Möbel GmbH & Co. KG closed its doors, its UK arm - Nolte Möbel Ltd - has gone into administration.

Founded in 1955, Nolte Möbel specialised in the manufacture and sale of fitted bedroom furniture, including chests of drawers, wardrobes, shelving, plus related accessories such as shoe racks, lighting and drawer fitments.

The Gazette reports that Nicholas Cusack and Paul Bailey of Bailey Ahmad Ltd (T/A BABR) were appointed as joint administrators of Nolte Mobel Ltd on 2nd May 2025. KBB Review reports that the administrators are working closely with all relevant parties to ensure that all current orders are fulfilled where possible, and customers with outstanding orders should expect to be contacted to arrange delivery over the course of the next two weeks.

Accounts filed at Companies House for the year ended 31st December 2023 made reference to the fact that Nolte Möbel Ltd made a trading loss of £142,481 and had net liabilities of £44,659. Furthermore, the accounts noted that trading during 2024 had been 'challenging due to low levels of consumer confidence' and that 'losses have not yet reduced on 2023'. Auditors noted that a 'material uncertainty exists that may cast significant doubt on the company's ability to continue as a going concern'.    

According to German industry press, Nolte Möbel GmbH & Co. KG initially began insolvency proceedings in November 2023. The business was restructured but did not recover, and the majority of the company's 250 employees left at the end of April. Unless a buyer is found for the business the remaining employees, who are working on the company's final orders, will leave in July.

Nolte Möbel was once part of the kitchen manufacturer Nolte Group, but became a separate business in 2020.
