Argos app a hit with iPhone users

Argos has announced that its iPhone app has had nearly 500,000 downloads since the company launched the utility on 28 May. Argos marketed the product heavily prior to its release, promising that the highly-functional app would allow customers to find products quickly and easily, making it a must-have for any Argos shopper.

According to Siobhan Fitzpatrick, head of Argos brand marketing, the iPhone app is the first stage in the company’s new marketing campaign Find It, Get It, Argos It. He added that the app demonstrates how fast and easy it is for customers to find what they are looking for when shopping at his company’s store. Mr Fitzpatrick went on to say that the iPhone app cements Argos’s reputation as being the leader in innovation among global retailers.

The Argos app has consistently been in the top 20 of free downloadable apps on the iTunes apps store since its release last month, and currently holds the number one spot in the lifestyle category. The app was downloaded a whopping 170,000 times during the weekend of its release at the end of May, and has seen incredible popularity over the past three weeks. The company is scheduled to implement a new online element to its advertising campaign as part of the next stage of its Find It, Get It, Argos It promotional activity.
