Bowler steps down from Grafton Group Board

Gillian Bowler has resigned from the board of Grafton Group after sixteen years as a non-executive director.

Chairman Michael Chadwick praised Bowler for her contibutions to the business and her insight.

The DIY experts and building materials merchants returned to profit in 2010 despite tough trading conditions at its Woodie’s and Atlantic Homecare stores.

In December, Bowler also said she will resign as chairman of Irish Life & Permanent when her successor is found. The financial institution is currently in the process of appointing a new chairperson.
