B&Q, the UK’s leading home improvement retailer, is strengthening its on-demand delivery offer with the launch of TradePoint Express, a new same-day delivery service exclusively for trade customers, as well as the expansion of its Deliveroo partnership to more than 100 stores nationwide.

The latest developments form part of B&Q's continued investment in giving customers faster and more convenient ways to access the products they need. Building on recent enhancements including the introduction of Marketplace Click + Collect, customers can now choose from an expanding range of collection and delivery options designed to suit planned projects, urgent repairs and last-minute requirements.

In partnership with on-demand courier platform Gophr, TradePoint Express enables TradePoint Business Development Managers to arrange deliveries, either within two hours or a pre-booked two-hour slot same-day, for TradePoint members from B&Q's standalone TradePoint store in Barking and 123 participating B&Q stores across the UK. The service is set to expand to more TradePoint stores later this year, helping even more trade customers save valuable time by reducing the need to travel to collect essential materials and enabling them to stay focused on the job at hand.

B&Q has also expanded its Deliveroo partnership to more than 100 stores nationwide following a successful trial. Customers can now access up to more than 9,000 home improvement products through Deliveroo, with orders delivered in as little as 35 minutes. Since launching in 2024, the Deliveroo partnership has continued to grow in response to increasing demand for fast and convenient access to home improvement essentials, supporting both planned projects and last-minute repairs.

Together, these services are designed to make it easier for both trade and retail customers to access the products they need, whenever and wherever they need them.

Amélie Gallichan-Todd, Supply & Logistics Director at B&Q, said: “We're continually evolving the ways customers can shop with B&Q, making it faster and more convenient to access the products they need. The launch of TradePoint Express and the expansion of Deliveroo to more than 100 stores are important steps in that journey, giving both trade and retail customers greater flexibility through a range of delivery options designed to suit different project needs. As our customer expectations continue to evolve, we’re focused on making it easier for them to get the right products, exactly when and where they need them.”

Suzy McClintock, VP of Consumer at Deliveroo, said: “Deliveroo customers frequently use the platform for their home improvement needs, as they seek out quick and convenient delivery during those DIY emergencies. By expanding our successful partnership with B&Q nationwide, more customers than ever can keep those home improvement projects moving, with access to what they need, when they need it. Whether it’s paint or power tools, we can have them delivered to your doorstep in as little as 25 minutes.”

John Morgan, Director of TradePoint, said: "Time is one of the most valuable resources for trade professionals. TradePoint Express has been designed to help our members spend less time collecting materials and more time focused on the job. By working with our TradePoint Business Development Managers and Gophr, we're providing a flexible same-day delivery service that helps keep projects moving and supports customers when timing matters most."

Graham Smith, Commercial Director at Gophr said: “Gophr’s partnership with B&Q, supporting the launch of TradePoint Express, will mean a faster, more convenient service for trade customers. Our technology and delivery network enable flexible, same-day fulfillment that meets the needs of busy professionals, helping products move quickly and efficiently from store to site.”

Insight perspective

B&Q’s TradePoint Express service is easy to file under “faster delivery”, but perhaps that's underselling it.

A few things stand out:

1) It’s booked through people, not an app.
Deliveries are arranged via TradePoint Business Development Managers. That makes it a relationship tool as much as a logistics one. Every booking tells B&Q what its trade members are working on and what they’ll need next.

2) The two-hour slot matters more than the two-hour dash.
For a tradesperson, the real cost of a collection run is lost billable hours. A guaranteed window means they can plan labour around the materials, not the other way round. Certainty is the product.

3) The big-box estate is being put to work.
With 123 B&Q stores (plus Barking) and Gophr and Deliveroo handling the last mile, B&Q has turned a property portfolio many have seen as a burden into a fulfilment network without buying a single van.
