Plans for the first B&Q to come to Bedford are soon to be put before the council.
A planning application has been submitted to Bedford Borough Council for the DIY store to be built close to the Interchange Retail Park east of Ampthill Road.
Around 150 jobs will be created at the home improvement and garden retailer, with the site costing around £18.5 million to develop.
The closest B&Q stores to the town are located in St Neots, Wellingborough, Milton Keynes and Luton.
