B&Q to close Widnes store
B&Q has confirmed that its Widnes Waterfront store, located on Dennis Road, is to close by the end of 2016.
A B&Q spokesperson said: “We can confirm that staff at B&Q Widnes have been told that their store is set to close later this year, no date has been confirmed as yet.
“When the time comes, we will endeavour to find positions for as many staff as possible.”
The closure is part of parent company Kingfisher’s plan to close in the region of 60 stores – around 15% of retail store space - by the end of 2017.
