B&Q to open in Arbroath
A MAJOR DIY chain has confirmed it is to open a store in Arbroath.
B&Q say they will be opening up in the town and are hoping to be ready for business by April but they were unable to confirm any details on location or how many jobs could be brought to the area.
Already, job vacancies for B&Q in Arbroath are being advertised on the Jobseekers Direct website, which is run by the Department for Work and Pensions.
These are mainly for customer sales advisor roles.
One retail unit that has stood empty for some is the one that was formerly occupied by the Focus DIY chain at the Westway Retail Park.
Focus closed its doors in June of last year when the company went into administration and the shop has remained empty ever since.
However, a spokesperson from B&Q was unable to confirm if the company would move into these premises.
When Focus hit financial difficulties last year, B&Q did rescue some stores and added them to their property list.
But at the time, they decided not to take on the Arbroath outlet.
The Kingfisher group is the parent company of B&Q, which is one of their biggest brands.
They have 357 stores across the UK.

I find the news and articles they publish really useful and enjoy reading their views and commentary on the industry. It's the only source of quality, reliable information on our major customers and it's used regularly by myself and my team.
