B&Q to sponsor skate ramp at Goodwood

B&Q and Goldie Skate on Goodwood to Mark Forest Friendly Launch at Vintage Festival

The B&Q and Greenpeace skate ramp is ready to be seen at this year’s hottest new festival, Vintage at Goodwood, sporting the newly launched B&Q ‘Forest Friendly’ campaign image.

(Press Release) The campaign enables people to shop with B&Q in confidence that they’re buying wood products and those containing wood from responsibly managed sources.

The skate ramp is made from 100% sustainable FSC certified wood, supplied by B&Q, and enables Greenpeace to talk to people about the devastating impact of deforestation and the importance of choosing responsibly sourced timber products in a fun and engaging way.

The artists will render a skate board that will be auctioned off on eBay in a bid to raise as much money as possible for Greenpeace to continue to highlight their campaign work to save what’s left of the world’s rainforests.

The forest friendly launch highlights the need for people to check the sustainability credentials of timber before they buy to help preserve endangered species and habitats and to ensure local communities are prosperous and protected. Currently just over 90% of B&Q’s timber products are traceable to proven, well-managed forests and the retailer is working hard on the rest.

Goldie says of the launch, “The B&Q skate ramp looks excellent in the 80s section of Vintage and I’m happy to support such a worthwhile cause. I hope that my rendered skate board raises as much as possible to help Greenpeace continue their good work.”

Rachel Bradley, B&Q’s Social Responsibility Manager says; “We’re excited to see people skating on our Good Wood and hope to raise as much awareness as possible about the need to choose responsibly sourced wooden products.

Our new campaign, ‘Forest Friendly’ is another step towards making it easier for our customers to buy sustainably sourced products.”
