B&Q's customers enjoy Flash Mob

Staff at B&Q stores across the UK put on their dancing shoes for special performances today, as the DIY chain looked to raise money for Comic Relief.

The 'flash mob dances' took place at the retailer's 330 shops shortly before lunchtime, with workers performing a routine to I've Got A Feeling by Black Eyed Peas.

Customers were also invited to join in with the synchronised flash mob, entertaining children and embarrassing mums and dads.

Among those strutting their stuff at the New Malden branch was Syd Prior, who at 96 years old is the chain's oldest staff member.
Mr Prior, who has worked for B&Q for more than 20 years, said: 'It was very enjoyable. I thought I might have to tango, but it was in the style of the YMCA. I was throwing my arms around and twisting about.'

The flash mob events seemed to go down well with customers, who enjoyed having their home improvement shopping interrupted by some charity dancing.

Mark Howard, manager of the chain's Nursling shop, told the Daily Echo: 'It was all about doing something with the customers and having a bit of fun.'
