Changes at the top at B&Q
B&Q operations director Martyn Phillips has been promoted to the new role of ceo for B&Q UK and Ireland with immediate effect.
He will report to Kingfisher UK and Ireland ceo Euan Sutherland, who previously held the B&Q ceo role but has now taken on additional commercial responsibilities across the Kingfisher network, leading him to reorganise his senior team.
Mr Sutherland said: "I am delighted that we are able to promote Martyn to this key role in my B&Q leadership team. Martyn's 17-year career with Kingfisher including his most recent appointment on the B&Q board as operations director and before that HR director means that he is well placed to take on this newly created role in our leadership structure. I am very much looking forward to this next phase in our strategy and development of the leadership team."
Mr Sutherland will remain close to the B&Q business as ceo of Kingfisher UK and chairman of the B&Q board.
