Checkatrade Announces Band of Builders as 2026 Charity Partner
Checkatrade, the UK’s leading home improvement platform, has today announced Band of Builders as its official charity partner for 2026, marking a commitment to continue to support the trade community alongside helping current members to run and grow their businesses.
Band of Builders is a charity created by the trade, for the trade, providing practical support to members of the construction industry and their families during life-changing or unexpected circumstances. When illness, injury or hardship strikes, the charity brings together skilled tradespeople to carry out essential building projects. From home adaptations to vital repairs, the charity helps people regain dignity, independence and stability.
Emma Grant, Head of Trade Engagement at Checkatrade said “This partnership is rooted in shared values. We work with thousands of tradespeople across the UK and we see the dedication and resilience in the industry every day. We’ve already joined some of the fantastic events Band of Builders have set up as volunteers and know that partnering with them will allow us to give something meaningful back and to support the people behind the tools when they need it most.”
Throughout 2026, Checkatrade and Band of Builders will work closely together to raise awareness of the support available to tradespeople and their families, share real stories from across the industry, and encourage fundraising and volunteering initiatives that celebrate the positive impact of the trade community.
Gavin Crane, CEO of Band of Builders, welcomed the partnership. “Band of Builders was founded in 2016 and exists to support tradespeople at their most difficult moments, and this partnership with Checkatrade will help us reach even more people who may need our help. It’s incredibly powerful when the trade community comes together to support its own, and we’re proud to be working with a partner that truly understands the realities of life in the trades.”
“As well as providing practical assistance, BoB also offers wellbeing support, including a text service (text BOB to 85258), and financial help.”
The partnership reflects Checkatrade’s ongoing commitment to championing the trade community and recognising the challenges that can come with physically demanding, often self-employed work.
