Dobbies seeks staff and suppliers

Dobbies has invited local food and drink suppliers to apply for a one-to-one Meet the Buyer session with its buying team, to present products and find out how to get listed by the garden centre chain for its Inverness site.

Dobbies has recently announced plans to open a new Dobbies Garden World in Inverness in October 2013.

Its sourcing team is interested in meeting local Scottish food and drink producers (ideally located within 30 miles of Inverness) with the potential to supply the Inverness store with products from the following categories.

Fresh Meat, Pies
Cooked & Smoked Meats
Local Delicacies
Dairy; Milk, Butter, Cheese, Yogurt, Eggs
Other Chilled Produce (except Fruit & Vegetables)
Preserves; Jam & Honey
Bakery Specialities
Biscuits; Chocolate, Desserts
Other Packaged Ambient Products
Beers, Wines & Spirit

Meanwhile, Dobbies and its owner Tesco have begun the search for 220 new recruits ahead of the opening of its new joint Tesco/Dobbies store on Hardwick Industrial Estate in King's Lynn in the autumn.

The supermarket is looking for 100 people to join the 275 staff who work in the current store when they move over to the new build in October. Dobbies will be taking on 120 people across all of its departments.
