Dunelm to automate business order processing
Specialist homewares retailer Dunelm Mill is set to automate the processing of essential businesses orders, it was announced today.
Expanding its partnership with logistics solutions provider Kewill, the retailer hopes to improve its order management system which will be remotely accessible from an online-portal.
The new technology will allow Dunelm quick electronic transfer and full visibility of all supplier documents, including invoices.
Jacquie Boast, COO EMEA at Kewill, said that the continued partnership was good news for both companies.
“By upgrading to the latest solution, its suppliers will benefit from the best of breed order management system, making the entire process as simple and effective as possible, while continuing to support the company’s growth,” he commented.
Last week, the retailer reported a a two per cent year-on-year drop in like-for-like sales for the first quarter of its financial year, though total sales grew 5.3 per cent as a results of its continued growth in selling space.
Peter Kelly, Deputy Finance Director at Dunelm, pointed out that the renewed partnership will increase the company’s ability to focus on further expansion in the future.
“By upgrading our suppliers to the Kewill Trade Quick Start platform, we are looking forward to providing ever greater functionality and ease of use which will support our business growth plans over the coming years, as well as provide full visibility of order processing,” he said.
