Flooring Superstore To Open New Midlands Store
Flooring Superstore is expanding its network of stores with a planned new opening in the Midlands.
The new Wolverhampton store will be the flooring retailer's third Midlands opening in a year, the sixth opening in the last six months and the 19th store in three years.
The retailer is investing £100,000 into the new 4,500 sq ft store which is located on St John's Retail Park in the town. It will join retailers Homebase, Next, Currys/PC World, ScS, Pets at Home, Wren Kitchens and Tapi.
Flooring Superstore started off as an online-only business in 2012. It now has ten warehouses at its County Durham head office, including a brand new 10,000 square foot warehouse that has been purpose-built purely for stocking its wood flooring range.
The news follows the announcement that Growth Partner has completed a £5 million investment into Connection Retail, which operates the Flooring Superstore, Direct Wood Flooring and Grass Direct brands.
Ian Robinson, Flooring Superstore regional manager, said: “We’re delighted to have been able to choose Wolverhampton for the opening of our newest store.
“With other stores opening in Coventry and Birmingham over the last year it is further consolidating our position in the Midlands, which is a strategic area for us as we continue our rapid growth across the UK.”
