Former Mark Two director sets up new kitchen business
A former director of Mark Two Distributors – which collapsed in November with the loss of 196 jobs – has set up a new kitchen furniture business called Faith Furniture Company.
Paul Jenkinson is at the helm of the company and former Mark Two Distributors MD Nick Hopkinson is an investor. Twenty-one former Mark Two employees have been hired, including financial controller David Edmondson, inventory controller Martin Farrimond, sales office manager Simon Griffiths, and distribution manager Paul Boyes.
Faith's LochAnna Kitchens are aimed at independent retailers and are based on Mark Two's Lakes collection, with new fascias and a new cabinet colour. Sales and marketing manager Neil Taggart said some stock had been purchased from Mark Two.
Mark Two Distributors entered administration after sister business Mark Two Home, which sold and installed kitchen and bathroom furniture for Tesco, ceased trading. A substantial proportion of the distribution company's business was also with Tesco.
Jenkinson said: “I’m proud to be leading a new dedicated furniture company with a tremendously motivated team behind me. We want to be different, to put our customer at the heart of everything we do and to be easy to deal with. Retailer support has been phenomenal with customers clearly having Faith in the future.”
