German DIY Sales Rise 1.3% In First Nine Months of 2018

According to information from trade association BHB, for the first nine months of 2018, German DIY stores experienced a 1.3% rise in sales, reaching EUR 14.39bn.
When considered over comparable retail space, growth was a reported 1% for the same period.
Strongest sales were experienced in April, May and June, with sales of EUR 2.24 bn (+22.0%), EUR 2.00 bn (+1.1%) and EUR 1.76 bn (+2.1%) respectively.
July's sales and growth figures were EUR 1.65 bn (+1.3%) while August and September experienced decline in sales growth, with sales of EUR 1.54 bn (-0.2%) and EUR 1.44 bn (-0.3%) respectively.
During Q3, sales reached EUR 4.62 bn; an increase of 0.3%. On a like-for-like basis, this represents a rise of 0.1%.
