Gophr Launches Specialist Delivery Service For DIY And Construction Sectors
Last-mile on-demand delivery business Gophr has launched “Gophr Trades”, a specialist delivery service for the construction and DIY industries. The new service is designed specifically to meet the needs of individual tradespeople as well as larger construction and related trade businesses. Founding clients include Screwfix and Rexel.
As one of the UK’s leading providers of last-mile logistic services, Gophr has identified the sector as one where a same day solution can offer a real value-add. Construction projects live and die by the efficacy of their supply chain, working to just in time schedules where the smallest delay can cause a significant hit to profitability.
Gophr has trialled and perfected a highly tailored approach to delivery that avoids skilled personnel wasting time travelling off site to look for tools and supplies or hanging around for delivery businesses that don’t understand the specific time and other pressures the sector operates by.
Businesses already using Gophr Trades are Screwfix, delivering from over 300 stores nationwide and Rexel, a leading electrical distributor in the UK.
Gophr’s new offering is supported by a longstanding integration with the geocode system, what3words. The partnership ensures that deliveries made by Gophr’s extensive network of professional couriers arrive in a safe, secure and convenient location - of particular importance when delivering to large scale construction projects that have yet to be given a formal address.
Commenting on the launch, Graham Smith, Strategic Account Director at Gophr, said: “The grocery sector has captured much of the conversation when it comes to same day and rapid delivery. Armed with our experience in this as well as a range of other industries, we identified a need early on in construction for a similarly efficient approach.
“We have taken the time to understand this complex sector and Gophr Trades has been carefully formulated to address its very specific dynamics, leading to greater efficiency, more jobs and ultimately more happy customers.”
