Grafton Group buys two more branches
Builders merchant group Grafton Merchanting GB has added two new branches to its UK network. The two branches are in Aberdeen and Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis.
Big Ord Ltd is a single site builders merchant specialising in drainage and pipeline products and is based in Dyce, Aberdeen.
The business will trade as PDM Ltd, as part of GMGB's specialist drainage and pipeline brand, meaning the brand will trade from eight branches in total. Branch manager Jim Leith will stay with the business.
GMGB has also acquired Bain Morrison & Co Ltd, a single branch merchant in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis.
Owners John and Joan Hay are staying with the business, with John as branch manager. The timber and general builders merchant was established in 1901 and joins the Buildbase network.
Grafton Group recently announced that Gavin Slark, former ceo of BSS, has been appointed chief executive designate from this April.
