Hiatt Hardware Group Acquires Lakes Bathrooms, Saving 120 Jobs

Lakes Bathrooms - Hiatt Hardware

The Midlands-based hardware and ironmongery group has completed the acquisition of Lakes Bathrooms Ltd and Lakes Showering Spaces, adding a premium British bathroom brand and manufacturing capability to its portfolio. This acquisition significantly broadens the group’s product offer to trade and merchant customers across the UK.

Hiatt Hardware Group has completed the acquisition of Lakes Bathrooms Ltd and Lakes Showering Spaces, one of the UK bathroom sector’s most established premium brands.

The multi-million pound deal secures more than 120 jobs across the Lakes workforce and marks a significant strategic expansion for the group, with the acquisition seeing it broaden its offer to include a wider range of bathroom related products.

Lakes Bathrooms, headquartered in Gloucestershire, built its reputation over five decades as a leading manufacturer of premium showering enclosures, screens and bathroom products. The business is recognised across the trade for its quality, design innovation and customer service, and operates its own manufacturing facilities.

The addition of a fully owned manufacturing operation brought by the acquisition strengthens the group’s supply chain resilience and mirrors a model already established within the Hiatt Hardware Group business.

Ankesh Agrawal, Chairman of Hiatt Hardware Group, said: “Lakes is a respected, well-established British brand with genuine manufacturing heritage and this acquisition is a bold and considered move that reflects our confidence in the long-term strength of the UK trade and home improvement market. Our focus now is on supporting the Lakes team and ensuring continuity of the excellent service their customers expect.”

Nipun Agrawal, Group CEO, said: “This acquisition accelerates our strategy to build a stronger, more diversified group with market-leading brands across the hardware and home improvement supply sectors. Lakes brings a high-quality manufacturing capability and a loyal, specialist customer base that complements our existing trade relationships.”

Adrian Jones, Group Finance Director, said: “This is a strategically and financially sound investment. We have clear visibility on the synergy opportunity and a disciplined plan to create sustainable value across the combined group. The acquisition supports our ambition for long-term, diversified growth underpinned by strong financial discipline.”

Following the acquisition on the 18th May 2026, Hiatt Hardware Group will grow to employ 200 people across the combined group, reflecting its commitment to domestic investment.

Hiatt Hardware Group is a Birmingham-based distributor and supplier of premium hardware and ironmongery products, serving builders’ merchants, retailers and trade customers across the United Kingdom and Ireland. The group is known for high-quality, durable product ranges and a strong reputation for reliability and customer service and support.
