HomeSense opens five stores in five weeks
Off-price furniture and accents retailer HomeSense is part way through a flurry of store openings that will take its national store portfolio to 38 shops.
The retailer — part of the TJX group of companies that also runs TK Maxx in the UK — opened its 34th and 35th stores at retail parks in Aintree and South Harrow on the 3rd and 10th September.
Its 36th will open this Thursday (17th Sep) at Cheadle, before a week later (24th Sep) it launches in Aylesbury.
The last of the current spate of new shops is planned for Maidenhead on 1st October. The five stores in five weeks is as many as the retailer opened in its entire 2014–15 financial year, when sales are likely to have passed £100m for the first time.
It grew sales nearly 12 per cent to just under £88m in its last reported year (to end January 2014).
