Houzz launches home improvement market place

Houzz, the leading platform for home renovation and design, today announced the launch of the Houzz Shop, its home products marketplace, in the UK. With the Houzz Shop, UK homeowners, design enthusiasts and home professionals can buy more than 100,000 products and materials from over 2,500 sellers from across Europe, directly on the Houzz site and app. From rugs to tiles, to lighting and bathroom vanities, Houzz UK’s product catalogue, which is growing daily, includes items for major renovation projects and self builds as well as furniture and small decor items.

“Since day one, we have been focused on creating the single best home renovation and design experience by bringing everything people need to improve their homes together under one roof,” said Houzz co-founder and CEO Adi Tatarko. “We’re delighted to bring the Houzz Shop to the UK so that people can discover, learn about, and now buy all the products and materials to complete their home projects directly on Houzz.”

With the launch of the Houzz Shop, Houzz is also introducing its View in My Room tool within its app for iPhone, iPad and Android. With View in My Room, app users can see any product from the Houzz Shop in their rooms in augmented-reality mode, allowing people to view how products look in their own homes before buying. View in My Room is an extension of Sketch, a feature within the Houzz app that gives people the power to experiment with home decor options by adding products from the Houzz Shop to any photo.

Houzz introduced its home products marketplace in the U.S. in October 2014, and the UK is the first country to launch the Houzz Shop outside of North America. Houzz’s UK community has grown to more than two million monthly unique users and over 65,000 active home renovation and design professionals in more than 65 trades, such as architects, interior designers and home builders.
