The planning application was submitted by Maple Grove Development Ltd and Lancashire County Council for a major mixed usedevelopment, which IKEA forms part of. Submission of the planning application follows thoroughconsultation with local residents, businesses, councillors and the local community.

The new 35,000 m2 IKEA Cuerden store will provide the full range of IKEA’s unique, high-quality home furnishing products and expertise, alongside a restaurant, crèche, children’s play area and customer car park.

IKEA are expanding their retail offer across the UK with the aim of making their home furniture expertise accessible to more people, and Cuerden is the next location for a new store. We want to be more accessible, bringing our home furniture expertise and product range closer to more of our customers. We are very excited to be coming to Cuerden and to submitting the planning application for the new store – which will include the full IKEA product range and inspirational room sets, a crèche, playground and restaurant, making each visit to the store a fun day out for the whole family.”
