IKEA to Open New Plan and Order Point in Aberdeen

• IKEA confirms it is set to open the doors of its new Plan and Order Point store in Aberdeen’s Union Square on Wednesday, 14^th October.
  
  
• The new city centre store will offer bespoke planning services for kitchen, bedroom and living room storage, alongside convenient collection and return options, with more than 600 home furnishing accessories and small furniture items available for immediate takeaway.

IKEA today announces it will open the doors of its brand-new Plan and Order Point in Aberdeen on Wednesday, 14th October, at 10am. Conveniently located in the heart of the city in Union Square, the new store will make it easier than ever for Aberdeen customers to shop with IKEA.

IKEA Plan and Order Points are smaller stores, designed to provide customers with bespoke kitchen, bedrooms and storage planning services. At IKEA’s new home in Union Square, customers will be able to access in-depth home furnishing advice and expertise, assisting them in planning, purchasing and installing their ideal kitchens, bedroom and living room storage.

Customers will be able to shop from a curated range of around 600 home furnishing accessories available for immediate takeaway, including BILLY bookcase, KALLAX shelving units, ALEX drawer unit and LACK side table. A collection area for online orders will also be conveniently located in the city centre store, with customers able to return IKEA purchases to the store.

Once open, customers will be able to drop-in or book an appointment online to start their design. Products can then be ordered from across the full IKEA range for delivery direct to the customer’s home, to the Plan and Order Point or a Click and Collect location of their choice.

IKEA closed its Aberdeen Order and Collection Point in Wellington Square on 1 March, as the retailer transitions to its new planning-led format in Aberdeen city centre.

IKEA is bringing its updated Plan and Order Point format to Aberdeen as part of its UK expansion strategy, to bring the brand closer to where the many people live, work and socialise by showing up in new shapes and sizes.

The opening of the new-format store in Aberdeen will bolster the retailer’s presence in Scotland, complementing existing IKEA stores in Edinburgh and Glasgow, a Plan and Order Point in Dundee, and in-home planning services available throughout the Inverness area.

It comes after IKEA opened seven new UK stores last year, with two city centre stores on London’s iconic Oxford Street and in Brighton, two new Plan and Order Points in Hull and York, and three new-format small stores in retail park locations in Harlow, Norwich and Chester.

IKEA Plan and Order Point Aberdeen will open Monday to Friday 10am – 8pm and Saturday and Sundays 10am - 6pm.
