Insight DIY opens up access to everyone

Insight Retail Group has announced that it has relaunched Insight DIY, the B2B website for the Home Improvement Industry, and changed its business model to make all of its news, market intelligence and information available to all users completely free of charge. This bold decision comes at a time when many of the larger media/news websites are trying to find ways to charge for their content as a result of a terminal decline in advertising revenues.

The new website has opened up for free access key sections including Retailer Profiles, Economic Data, Price Audits and its entire library of thousands of news, articles and videos that can now be searched from the homepage.

Insight DIY, along with the unique consumer facing Compare websites for Kitchens, Bathrooms and Bedrooms, is owned and run by Insight Retail Group Ltd, whose Managing Director Steve Collinge said,

"Insight DIY has been operating for just over 3 years now and during that time has featured over 3,200 breaking news stories, 560 industry relevant articles and more than 200 videos. During this time, we've learnt a lot about the behaviour of our 15,000 users who access our website on a regular basis. They simply want high quality breaking news and market intelligence at their finger tips at all times of the day. The requirement for subscriptions, passwords and log-ins just gets in the way, particularly when an increasing number of our users access the website on a mobile device in the 30mins they have before an important customer meeting". 

As well as its in-depth coverage of the UK Home Improvement market, the new website has extended its reach to include both International DIY and Digital Retail News and now features breaking news, articles, videos and detailed market intelligence on 11 different customer channels and 28 different retailers with more being added all the time.
