Jewson Alnwick Announces Opening Event

• Celebs, giveaways & Highland cows at Jewson Alnwick event this August

Leading builders merchant Jewson is inviting tradespeople, customers and families to a fun-filled free event this summer to celebrate the grand opening of its new Alnwick branch.

Celebrity guests including former footballer Jimmy Bullard and darts champion James Wade will be in attendance, hosting sporting challenges throughout the morning as well as a live Q&A. Customers who place orders on the day for collect or delivery will have the chance to win prizes such as a £1,000 holiday voucher, tickets to the World Darts Championship at the iconic Alexandra Palace this Christmas, and hospitality tickets to watch Liverpool vs Newcastle at Anfield.

Elsewhere at the event there will be a live DJ, free street food from Food in the Hood, an ice cream van, free beer from local Alnwick Brewery, merchandise giveaways and even some Highland cows to mark the occasion. The famous Dulux dog will also be there on the day, representing the British paint brand alongside other suppliers.

The event takes place on Friday 7th August at the new purpose-built Jewson Alnwick branch at Lionheart Enterprise Park South, from 7:30am-1pm.

Malcolm Wootton, Branch Manager at Jewson Alnwick, said: “The grand opening of our new Alnwick branch has been months in the making and I’m sure it will be a day to remember for the local community. We know many of our customers will be looking for ways to keep their kids busy during the summer holidays, which is why we’ve made sure there is something for all ages. There will be free food and drink, music and even some Highland cows!”Jewson Alnwick’s purpose-built branch replaces the former site off Wagonway Road, creating four new jobs, and now offers 7,000 products and materials for local builders and tradespeople.

The new branch – which has a brew station serving free tea and coffee for customers – has a drive-in loading bay, an extended range of timber products stored undercover, a dedicated bathroom selection centre with plumbing specialists on hand, paint-mixing facilities and much more, offering tradespeople and builders everything they need for a single project under one roof.

Customers can also benefit from Project Estimator, an estimating service from Jewson that helps builders and tradespeople save time in the planning stages of their projects, win more work, and save money on materials.

Whether you are a loyal customer or new to Jewson, it will be a great opportunity to meet our team, including familiar faces and new colleagues, as well as our suppliers and partners. More than anything, it's a chance for the building community across Alnwick to come together, celebrate the industry and see everything the new branch has to offer.”

Jewson Alnwick is open Monday-Friday from 7:30am to 5pm, and on Saturday from 8am to 12pm, at Lionheart Enterprise Park South (NE66 2FP).
