Last Chance To Dig In: Top Of The Plots Entries Close Soon

Top of the Plots 2025

It’s nearly time for tools down! With less than a week to go, entries are closing soon for GARDENA Top of the Plots, the UK-wide competition celebrating the best in ‘grow your own’ gardening.

A huge number of gardens and allotments across the country have already been proudly submitted, showcasing everything from thriving veggie patches to balcony biodiversity. There’s still time to get involved and be in with a chance of winning £1,000 worth of GARDENA products, RHS and DYFI Plants vouchers, and the ultimate honour: being crowned Plot of the Year.

The competition, run by GARDENA - Europe’s number one watering and hand tools brand - is supported by The National Allotment Society and judged by Sunday Times best-selling author and grow-your-own expert Huw Richards.

Entries close on Monday, 18 August 2025. To enter, submit photos and descriptions of your plot, plus contact details, via email to topoftheplots@democracypr.com, selecting from a range of categories including,

  • Best Allotment,

  • Best Garden Plot, and

  • Best New Plot,

plus mini prizes to be won for,

  • Kids on the Plot,

  • Best Small Plot,

  • Biodiversity on the Plot,

  • Best Community Plot.

Finalists across main categories will also be invited to a special celebration event to mark their achievements and bring together some of Britain’s most inspiring growers.

Huw Richards, GARDENA ambassador and head judge, said: “It’s been such a joy to see so many entries already coming in - from inventive small spaces to full-on growing havens. The diversity, passion and all the different personalities of Britain’s growers are really shining through. There’s still time to enter, and I’d love to see even more of you get involved before entries close!”

Mike Farrell, Chairman of The National Allotment Society, added: “The response so far has been truly heartening. The range of plots reflects the diversity and spirit of growers across the UK. These spaces mean so much more than just food - they represent connection, wellbeing and pride. We encourage everyone to get involved before entries close - your plot could be the next national winner.”

Whether you’re a seasoned grower or just starting out, there’s still time to enter and join the celebration of Britain’s incredible gardening community.
