Leekes launches kitchens website

Family-owned department store chain Leekes has unveiled a new kitchens website as part of its ongoing vision for growth, expansion and quality.

The launch of www.kitchens.leekes.co.uk comes just weeks after the home department store also invested in a similar dedicated site to highlight its extensive conservatory range.

Designed by an agency local to Leekes’ head office, in conjunction with an internal project team, the brief was to create two interesting and informative brochure sites that reinforce Leekes as a leading provider of kitchens and conservatories in the UK.

The new sites will focus on improved functionality as well as ease of use for customers to facilitate lead generation, brochure downloads and appointment creation.

The existing websitek will remain as an e-commerce site, allowing customers to shop easily with the leading home department store retailer.

However, over the last six months the brand identified a real need for a substantial investment in these two new individual sites. As Geraint Martin, e-commerce business manager at Leekes, explains: “Kitchens and conservatories are such an important part of our offering, and within the confines of the e-commerce leekes.co.uk site we were unable to fully convey the quality, range and expertise of our product offering.

“When browsing online, customers want to find all the information they need quickly and easily. Prior to the introduction of these new websites we were seeing several trends. The dwell time on our installation department pages was disappointing and we received many enquiries requesting brochures and more information.

“These two new dedicated sites now offer improved functionality enabling customers to fully appreciate the vast array of options and styles that Leekes has to offer. Customers can also download brochures immediately or request a free, no-obligation design consultation on a day and at a time that suits them.

“We are thrilled with the end result as it marks another important milestone in Leekes’ 115 year family history. Leekes’ unique proposition offers ‘everything for the home, under one roof’ and we have achieved this with these two new sites, bringing together everything we offer at Leekes all under one site – from interior design and product innovation right down to the last accessory.”

To support the launch of the new sites, Leekes has invested in a targeted PPC campaign. This will also be supported by ongoing SEO to establish the sites.

Firmly focused on keeping the business growing, Leekes will also unveil a dedicated bathrooms site in February 2014.
