Lewis's Home Retail buys two more TJ Hughes stores
J Hughes' administrators have sold two more of the failed discount retailer's stores to Lewis's Home Retail, safeguarding 134 jobs.
Administrators Ernst & Young have announced that the Newcastle and Widnes stores are the latest to be sold to Lewis’s who have also acquired the Liverpool, Eastbourne, Glasgow and Sheffield stores.
Joint administrator Tom Jack said: “We are delighted to have completed another deal, which protects further jobs across the north and brings the total number of jobs saved to 576."
The administrators are still seeking buyers for the company's remaining stores as a going concern whilst also trading stock through the group's store portfolio.
