Llandudno Homebase to close

Homebase in Llandudno will close in January - with 40 jobs under threat.
The DIY superstore chain revealed last December that it planned to shut its store on Mostyn Champneys retail park.
But until now they had never set a date for the closure.
Yesterday they confirmed they would leave the site on January 16.
A spokeswoman said: “Following a long negotiation period with the landlord, Homebase can confirm that its store on Mostyn Champneys Retail Park, Llandudno will close on 16 January 2016.
“We are working with our colleagues to support them as much as possible and to help them find alternative employment.”
Discount retailer B&M revealed in March it planned to take over the doomed Homebase store in Llandudno with hopes around 80 jobs could be created.
The firm says they will guarantee job interviews for all current Homebase employees.
They Daily Post contacted B&M today to see if they had a planned date to come to the Llandudno site and are awaiting their response.
