Lowes Opened 8 New Stores In 2025, Creating Over 800 Jobs
Lowe’s expansion in 2025 was about more than new aisles and garden centers. With eight new or reopened stores and more than 800 associates hired, each opening doubled as a jobs announcement and a commitment to support local organizations.
Across Texas, Arizona, Georgia and North Carolina, every grand opening followed the same playbook: hire locally, support community-focused organizations and celebrate with Lowe’s signature board-cutting ceremony, a tradition that dates back more than 60 years.
2025: By the Numbers

800,000+ square feet under roof
1,900+ tons of steel
19,000+ cubic yards of concrete
800+ associates hired

Where Lowe’s Grew
This year’s openings brought new or refreshed Lowe’s locations to:
Magnolia, Georgetown, north Fort Worth, Midlothian and Royse City, Texas
Maricopa, Arizona
Braselton, Georgia
East Asheville, North Carolina
Each store offers tens of thousands of square feet of retail and outdoor garden space to serve both homeowners and pros with updated layouts and expanded assortments.
Jobs on Day One
Each new store employs more than 100 associates, most of them hired from the surrounding community.
From Pro desk specialists in north Fort Worth to garden experts in Maricopa, the new teams are focused on helping customers tackle projects of every size. For Lowe’s, these roles are long-term investments in career paths close to home.
Connecting with Community
Store managers at each location found their own ways to bring neighbors in and build lasting relationships before, during and after opening day.
In East Asheville, Store Manager Joe Strong hosted a SpringFest Artist Market to support local artists and vendors rebuilding their businesses after Hurricane Helene, and invited customers to create letters, posters and signs of gratitude for first responders.
In Georgetown, Store Manager Nathan Fischer transformed his store into a family-friendly haunted house, complete with trick-or-treat stations and free candy.
In Maricopa, Store Manager Adrienne Gile led a week of themed in-store events, including sports day, military day and pet adoption day.
In Braselton, Georgia, Store Manager Mike Norwood staged a DIY birdhouse build-off between local first responder agencies, with the winner receiving an in-store gift card.
In Midlothian, Store Manager Sherrell Washington organized a service project for the Midlothian High School special education department, creating a welcoming, sensory-friendly courtyard for students returning to school.
Giving Starts at the Grand Opening
At every opening, store leaders backed the celebration with donations to local organizations. Each store donated at least $1,000 to no fewer than three nonprofits or community groups, totaling more than $24,000 in support across the year.
Highlights include:
First responders and schools
Braselton: Barrow County Fire Department, Barrow County Sheriff’s Office and Jackson County School District
Magnolia: Magnolia Fire Department and Magnolia Independent School District
Veterans and mental health
Magnolia: PTSD Foundation of America
Maricopa: Maricopa VFW and Arf-Anage Dog Rescue
Royse City: Royse City American Legion and Transforming Trauma

From rural communities to fast-growing suburbs and busy urban corridors, Lowe’s is meeting customers where they are by opening new stores that prioritize local hiring, community giving and grand openings that invite neighbors in from day one.
