ManoMano's Home Improvement Experts Helped 2.3m Customers Last Year

ManoMano, Europe’s largest DIY and Home Improvement marketplace, announces that in the last year, its team of Manodvisors have helped, and had conversations with, over 2.3M customers - up 130% compared to 2019.

The Manodvisors are independent DIY & gardening product and project advisers who share their technical expertise with customers through a live chat service available on ManoMano.co.uk.

The popularity of this service has boomed in the last year as the nation turned to DIY during lockdown. A recent survey by ManoMano reveals that the past year has turned us into a nation of DIY-ers, with nine in ten UK adults (91%) now believing that it is important for people to know how to do DIY. 

The growing popularity has led to ManoMano coining the 24th May as ‘International DIY Day’ for enthusiastic DIYers to try their hand at a new challenge. The Manodvisor service is on hand to help those customers that need advice along the way.

When asked, an overwhelming number of respondents said they turn to the internet for their help and inspiration, with over 75% looking on social media (Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest), 44% watching YouTube, 21% looking at DIY and Home Improvement blogs and 20% saying they would ask their dad.

To be a Manodvisor, those that sign up need to be experts on one of the following four topics - DIY, Gardening, Plumbing/Heating or Electricity – and simply have access to the internet. Manodvisors are also rewarded for the support they give to ManoMano customers through a commission scheme, offering up to 3.8% commission per conversation that takes place.
