My warehouse opens MK fulfillment centre
myWarehouse, the B2C order fulfilment specialist, has relocated its central warehouse operation to a new site at Heathfield Industrial Estate in Milton Keynes. The fulfilment centre offers four times the capacity of the previous facility in Bedford, enabling myWarehouse to handle a number of recent business wins and provide the necessary space for future growth.
As part of the process, myWarehouse has developed a bespoke fulfilment management system, including a voice picking solution, which has been designed to reduce footfall, increase productivity and avoid errors. The system boasts a 100 per cent picking accuracy with all consignments electronically scanned at every stage of the operation and has been integrated with home delivery software to ensure a seamless fulfilment approach.
myWarehouse was launched last year and has grown rapidly with more than 45 online retailers now using the company’s innovative pay as you go fulfilment solution. As a result, the new warehouse will store more than 20,000 different product lines including a wide range of DIY, fashion, babywear, health and beauty, electronics, home and kitchenware, and camping items, whilst handling on average 7,000 orders each month.
Richard Tucker from myWarehouse commented:
“The new fulfilment centre provides the necessary capacity to provide a quality solution to new and existing customers. We selected this site because it matches the company’s growth strategy moving forward and we are already looking at adding a mezzanine floor that will further boost the storage space.”
