Plumb Center to become Green Deal provider
Plumb Center will announce its intention to become a Green Deal provider at a special Open Day at its Sustainable Building Center.
The merchant will focus on helping small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) participate in the scheme and businesses and installers are invited to come and see how Plumb Center can help them get involved in the Green Deal.
By bringing together installer training, access to accreditation and assessment tools in an integrated package, supported by a complete range of Green Deal products readily available in branch, Plumb Center will give every SME the opportunity to take advantage of Green Deal.
The Green Deal Open Day, which will take place on Thursday 14th June at Leamington Spa, is the first in a number of informative installer briefing events which will conclude with a series of seminars at the Renewables Roadshow in September.
The Open Days will offer an overview of Plumb Center’s accredited Green Deal Advisor fast track training course, which will enable Gas Safe Registered and MCS accredited installers to become Green Deal Advisors/Installers. It will also give visitors the opportunity to see, in action, a wide range of products on the list of approved measures including; condensing boilers, ground and air source heat pumps, micro-CHP, biomass boilers, controls, underfloor heating, thermostats and insulation for cylinders, walls and lofts.
The fast track course will be available to installers from July at Plumb Center’s accredited centres, with further venues to follow. Some elements of the course will be available online. As an added incentive, there will be an early bird discount for those who sign-up at the Open Day.
Simon Allan, Plumb Center’s director of renewables comments: “Our customers have told us Green Deal is too complex a subject and while they want to get involved, they don’t know where to start, so we’re making it as simple and as accessible as possible. Plumb Center wants to make Green Deal opportunities available to all its customers, regardless of size or location, and that is why we intend to be a Green Deal Provider. We are investing in training and back office systems to ensure we have the best infrastructure in place to support the scheme and make it happen for our customers.”
