Plumbworld Ltd rebrands to become Online Home Retail Ltd

One of the UK’s largest and most well known plumbing retailers is currently going through a major rebrand. Plumbworld Ltd will no longer be the official trading brand; Online Home Retail Ltd is the new name. Don’t fear, the Plumbworld website is still there... http://www.Plumbworld.co.uk

What does this mean to the average person who shops at any of Plumbworld’s online websites? Absolutely nothing. Everything will be the same as before, the websites, the layout, the payment process – the only thing that is changing is the ‘brand’ which encompasses all the different trading names that they use.

There’s no need to worry about buying a new shower or bath; from a customer’s point of view nothing will have changed, aside from the T&C’s now saying ‘Online Home Retail Ltd’ rather than ‘Plumbworld Ltd’.

Why has this all come about? Well, Plumbworld, sorry, Online Home Retail Limited are currently venturing into other markets other than plumbing, home tools and barbecues. Due to this, it was felt that the brand ‘Plumbworld Ltd’ wasn’t very representative of all the products and services that are being offered. The new brand, ‘Online Home Retail Limited (OHRL)’ really does cover the scope of everything that is sold and it makes it much easier to separate Plumbworld as a trading name and as a brand now.

Scott Morris, Marketing Manager at OHRL gave his two-cents on the rebranding of the company. “This rebrand is long overdue and although Plumbworld was fine to run with, it never really reflected the scope and breadth of the products we actually sell. People would be confused if they heard that a website of Plumbworld’s sold lawn mowing equipment for example. But now with the rebrand, we hope people will see that we sell more than just plumbing supplies.”

Scott continued, “Our brand is huge and it’s growing by the year with the development of new sites and making further progress on original websites. So long as we keep our high quality levels of service to the customer and ensure we do the best job we can, we will continue to expand and get involved in other markets where we think we can make a difference and provide a better service than others.”

This rebrand looks like a step in the right direction for the guys and girls at OHRL, expanding their reach by allowing existing and potential customers to find out exactly what they sell. All the original trading names won’t be affected, therefore there’s no negative impact on the Plumbworld or Toolbox trading names; but at the same time reaping all the benefits of the rebrand.

Plumbworld & Toolbox both operate on the new and ever-expanding Online Home Retail Network which currently encompasses around 50 websites which sell everything from Silverline tools and shower pumps to Draper quality hand tools and leaf blowers. Online Home Retail Limited first started out as Plumbworld Ltd back in 1999 and since then it has been bought by the Grafton Group PLC in 2006 and received a major rebrand in 2012. The business now employs 60 people in its purpose built warehouse/offices and has a total turnover nearing £25 million per year.
