Praktiker reports 12.4% rise in Q1 sales

DIY retailer Praktiker Romania concluded the first quarter of 2015 with a 12.4 percent increase in sales, compared to the same period last year.

According to a press release, Praktiker ended 2014 with a total sales growth of approximately 3.2 percent against the previous year. This was the first year with increases in sales for the company, after four consecutive years of downtrend.

The upward trend in sales continued also in the first quarter of the current year. Thus, besides the evolution in sales, Praktiker Romania reports for the first three months of 2015 also an 8.8 percent increase in the number of customers, and a 2 percent higher average basket value as compared with the first three months of 2014.

Last year was an important year also in terms of expanding the range of new products, which increased by 37 percent, at the moment customers being provided with over 40,000 options.

The company currently has 28 Praktiker stores in Bucharest and throughout the country.
