Sainsbury's sales boost
Strong fourth quarter sales growth at Sainsbury's further raised the possibility of a private equity offer for the rejuvenated supermarket.
Like for like sales increased 5.9% excluding fuel, which was the ninth consecutive quarter of sales growth delivered by CEO Justin King, as he delivers the 'Make Sainsbury's Great Again' Campaign. Total sales increased 7.8%.
A private equity consortium, headed up by KKR continues to circle, and has until 13th April to make an offer.
Sainsbury's has renewed its contract to offer the Nectar customer loyalty programme.
