Sales growth at Screwfix
Sales at tools cataloguer Screwfix grew 4.1 percent to £127 million in the third quarter. Much of the growth was attributed to new ranges and the addition of specialist trade desks exclusive to plumbers and electricians within Screwfix’s outlets.
These outlets now generate around 60 percent of total sales. Retail profit was £8 million, up £5 million year-on-year. At sister company B&Q, UK and Ireland sales fell 4.7 percent o £924 million in the third quarter to 30th October, representing a like-for-like decline of 5.1 percent.
