Screwfix set to open next week in Queensferry as plans are submitted a new for Poundworld in Deeside.
Screwfix will officially open its first store in Deeside on 22nd October on Interlinq Trade Park in Queensferry.
Screwfix is owned by Kingfisher the same parent company as B&Q – they are set to close their Queensferry store in the new year.
Screwfix will create 14 new jobs at its new Deeside Store.
Manager, Nicola Joans is proud of the contribution the new store has made to employment figures in the region, she said:
“We’ve created 14 brand new vacancies and have employed local people from around the Deeside area. Our new team includes people of all ages and levels of experience, but the most important requirement is that they have the right attitude and can offer superb customer service. Everyone here is really looking forward to the store opening.”
Tradesmen and DIYers are all invited to attend the Deeside Screwfix opening on Interlinq Trade Park where they can also demonstrate their professional skills in a free-to-enter screw drilling competition. The fastest time wins a 40in smart TV.
Poundworld (not to be confused with Poundland) coming to Deeside?
While B&Q prepares to withdraw from Deeside Retail Park, another national retailer is preparing to take up occupancy – Poundworld has submitted two planning applications this week for external work including the removal of timber hoardings and replacing them with a new aluminium shop front on the vacant unit next to Pets At Home.
