Selco Builders Warehouse has announced a new partnership with the Construction Inclusion Coalition (CIC), joining as a Strategic Partner to help drive meaningful progress through the coalition’s #BuiltOnBetter pledge.

The Construction Inclusion Coalition is dedicated to improving Diversity, Equality & Inclusivity (DEI) in the construction sector. Bringing together businesses committed to long-term, structural change, the CIC works to identify barriers, advise on best practice, and develop practical, scalable solutions that create a more inclusive workforce and a stronger industry for all.

As a Strategic Partner, Selco will help to direct the coalition’s trajectory and its future endeavours, championing initiatives that support the #BuiltOnBetter pledge. The brand’s role will include inspiring change, listening to underrepresented voices, supporting communities, educating peers and contributing to industry wide change, led by Selco CEO Frank Elkins.

With diversity and inclusion already at the heart of the business, this partnership represents a natural and important evolution of its commitment to colleagues, customers and the construction industry. As an equal opportunities employer, Selco already has initiatives in place to champion DEI, such as its Women’s Forum and Diversity and Inclusion Group.

Sally Kerr, HR Director at Selco Builders Warehouse, said:

"Creating a more inclusive construction industry requires collaboration and joint action, which is why we are proud to be a Strategic Partner of the Construction Inclusion Coalition.

“At Selco, we believe that a diverse team brings stronger outcomes for both our customers and colleagues. We joined the CIC in 2025 and have already had the opportunity to connect with like-minded organisations that are as committed as we are to driving meaningful change within the sector. This year, we’re excited to forge ahead and see a measurable difference come into effect.

“There's still more work to do to ensure the construction industry is one where everyone feels welcome and valued. Alongside the CIC, we are consistently working to remove existing barriers and encourage people from all backgrounds to build rewarding careers and a more inclusive future for the industry.”

Jen Cassidy, CEO of Bristan and Chair of the Construction Inclusion Coalition, said:

“Selco’s decision to become a Strategic Partner of the Construction Inclusion Coalition reflects a genuine commitment to shaping a more inclusive future for our sector. It shows leadership rooted in care for the people who make this industry work. Their support strengthens our collective ability to drive meaningful change across the construction supply chain, and it sends a clear message: inclusion is not optional, it’s essential to the industry we want to build.”
