The Range confirms it will take over Grimsby's Homebase store

Home, leisure and garden chain The Range is to open a new superstore in Grimsby later this year, creating around 100 full and part-time jobs.

It will be located in the Victoria Street premises currently occupied by Homebase.

The nationwide chain, which is owned and run by Plymouth-based entrepreneur Chris Dawson, has stores in Scunthorpe, Lincoln and Hull.

He said: ““The continued success of The Range is down to the staff we employ, we are very pleased to be creating a number of jobs in the area and look forward to inviting potential employees to join the team.

“I would like to thank the council for welcoming us and being so supportive. We feel that The Range is a unique shopping experience that has something for everyone and we are confident that the people of Grimsby will enjoy what The Range has to offer.”

The Range offers more than 65,000 products across 16 departments including DIY, homewares, furniture and arts & crafts.

The store will open at 9am on Friday, October 31. A number of exclusive promotions will be on offer along with entertainment in the form of competitions and giveaways.
