The Range Pushing to Take Over a Worcester Homebase Store

Councillors are understood to have voted unanimously to allow a change to a planning condition which prevented anyone other than Homebase from occupying a site on Hylton Road, Worcester.

The Range has been interested in the site - which is still occupied by Homebase - for several months and submitted requests to change the use of the site in December.

Homebase currently operates two stores in Worcester: Hylton Road and Elgar Retail Park, Blackpole Road.

MWA Planning & Development Consultancy who worked with The Range on the proposal said that 85 jobs would be created if the store were to replace Homebase, which employs 35 people.

Homebase has not revealed plans to vacate the store.
