The Range to open on old B&Q site in Southend
WORK is continuing on a major new store in Southend town centre.
The derelict former B&Q site in Short Street is being prepared to be turned into a branch of The Range.
The DIY chain store is due to open its doors to the public on November 29.
It will create 150 new full and part time jobs – including Christmas temps.
Chris Dawson, owner of the chain, said: “When looking for new stores location is very important to us and we feel that the new Southend store is the perfect location.
“We are a fast growing company and expanding at a rapid rate, and I am confident that The Range Southend will play an important role.”

Thank you for the excellent presentation that you gave at Woodbury Park on Thursday morning. It was very interesting and thought-provoking for our Retail members. The feedback has been excellent.
