The former Homebase in Worcester is undergoing conversion and refurbishment to a create new The Range store.

In March of this year, it was reported that The Range was pushing to take on the Homebase unit, which was still trading at the time.  A month later, Homebase announced it was to close the Hylton Road store

Around 80 jobs will be created at the the new store, which will feature a cafe, a large outdoor garden centre and an Iceland concession.

The store is due to open on Friday, December 20th.

Chris Dawson, owner and founder of The Range, said: “Opening a new store is always an exciting moment for the company and the Worcester superstore is no exception.

“The job provision that comes with the new store should be a great boost to the local area."
