Tiger Announced as Headline Sponsor of Shed of the Year

Shed of the Year 2026

The UK’s most creative shed competition is back for another year.

The much-loved Shed of the Year is celebrating its 20th anniversary – launching with a new official sponsor, leading garden building retailer Tiger.

Launching March 25th, this year’s competition invites shed owners from across the UK to submit their creations, kicking off another exciting year of celebrating creativity, craftsmanship and the nation’s passion for outdoor spaces.

The partnership signals an exciting new chapter for the long-running competition, which has become a staple of the British summer calendar and a showcase of the UK’s most imaginative and inspiring sheds.

Founded in 2006, Shed of the Year has grown into a cultural phenomenon, attracting thousands of entries over the years, from traditional garden sheds to extraordinary, one-of-a-kind creations.

The 20th anniversary competition promises to be bigger than ever, with the introduction of new categories and, for the first time, category sponsors- including Protek Products, Horsforth Brewery, and St Gemma’s Hospice – reflecting the diversity and innovation seen in sheds across the country.

This year’s categories include:

  • Eco Haven

  • Workshop / Studio – sponsored by Horsforth Brewery

  • Most Colourful Shed – sponsored by Protek Products

  • Cabin / Summerhouse

  • Pub / Entertainment – sponsored by Horsforth Brewery

  • Community Shed- sponsored by St. Gemma’s Hospice

  • Regional Winner (new for 2026)

  • Tiger in the Wild (exclusive category for Tiger customers)

Shed fans can enter the competition now, with judging and public voting taking place in the lead-up to the overall winner being crowned in July.

If you have entered your shed before and didn’t win (category or overall, entrants are encouraged to enter again.

Andrew Wilcox, Founder and Head Judge of Shed of the Year, welcomed the new sponsorship:

"As we celebrate 20 years of Shed of the Year, partnering with Tiger feels like a natural fit. Launching the competition in Spring gives people the perfect opportunity to start thinking about their outdoor spaces as we head into the warmer months. Tiger shares my passion for quality craftsmanship and the important role that sheds play in people’s lives – whether that’s as a place to relax, create or escape.

We’re taking the competition to the next level this year, with new categories that reflect how the role of the humble garden shed has evolved. For instance, the Community shed category, sponsored by St Gemma's Hospice, highlights how a great shed can impact an entire community.”

Sam Jenkinson, Head of Marketing and Chief Sheddie at Tiger, added:

"Shed of the Year is an iconic competition that truly celebrates the creativity and individuality of shed owners across the UK. As a brand dedicated to providing high-quality garden buildings that help people find their perfect space, we’re proud to sponsor the competition as it celebrates its 20th year.

This is an exciting moment to engage with the shed community, and we’ve introduced new categories such as Tiger In the Wild, to celebrate the best entry across all categories that uses a Tiger building, and our new Regional Winners reflect both the nationwide love of sheds and the growth of our own UK-wide showsite network. This milestone year is about championing the versatility and value of sheds while connecting with a community that shares our enthusiasm.”
